Bringing coastal beauty to life: custom ocean art for a stunning luxury Maenporth holiday home.
It's not that often that I get to see where my work ends up in person. So when I do, and it happens to be in one of the most idyllic coves in Cornwall, you bet I'm going to tell you about it!
A few months ago, I was contacted by a lovely couple to see if I had any ocean art for their luxury holiday home in Maenporth. We met at the home to get to know each other and look at the space together to visualise which pieces could go where.
It was important to my clients that the living space artworks incorporate the colours and elements of the incredible woodland, river and ocean views.
We instantly had a warm connection and we decided on two 70cm round artworks for the kitchen/living space; "Memory Lane" and "In The Treetops." For the hallway/staircase area, we agreed on a 150x40cm bespoke piece ("Cove") with some bright pops of colour and iridescent details that come out to play in the natural light, provided by the ceiling skylight.

The owners, local to the area, have been putting all their time, love and effort into this project for the past few years, resulting in "Howldrevel" - meaning "sunrise" in Cornish.
It's an incredibly playful 4-bedroom beachfront home that was built into a cliff and designed with carefully curated luxurious finishes (let's take a moment for the Tom Raffield lamp shade) a bespoke kitchen, jacuzzi on a private balcony and views of the ocean.
And the great news is, you can stay here! Maenporth is a peaceful little coastal village and Falmouth -with all its bars and restaurants- is just around the corner. This would be the perfect place for a family beach holiday, a romantic getaway or a super relaxing time with a group of your best friends.
I am just sharing this because the owners are incredibly kind and wonderful and I thought it could interest some of you who love coming down to Cornwall on holiday.
